In the maker’s words

With this “portfolio expansion” we actually span 300 years: we have made it possible to re-create the instruments of the 1700s – used in smaller spaces, among fewer instruments – so that the sound matches the tonal ideal of that time, yet is also able to speak optimally under 21st-century performing conditions.

The maker

Who recommends them

I can highly recommend the baroque horn by Zoltán Juhász. The tone is exactly right for the period – simultaneously bright and well rounded. After purchasing one to use for orchestral work, I have found that it also meets the demands of the solo repertoire. A wonderful aspect of these horns is that they are essentially customised for each player: I had two tuning slides made, to accommodate playing with the hand in the bell or for when using vent-holes; the precise position and number of holes was my decision; there were a number of different crooks to choose from in each key. This horn is an excellent option for anybody interested in playing the baroque horn.
