The natural horn

The natural horn seen from the side

We offer two types of natural horns. One is designed for participation in a large symphony orchestra and therefore louder. The other is a solo instrument for solo performances or playing in chamber orchestras. It is a quieter instrument, but also relatively easy to play and with a crystal clear sound. A particular advantage of both types is the clarity of their open A.

These instruments are tuned to 442 Hz, which can be changed to 430 Hz by extending the tuning slide. It can play in ten different keys from low B-flat to high C. The low B-flat can be reached using an additional crook.
